Alteogen, Inspace executives join 200 job seekers at event
Daejeon city held its comprehensive youth employment project, aimed at guiding young job seekers from career preparation through workplace life and local settlement.
The city hosted "Jabdam (JOB+Talk) Live" on Tuesday at Daedeok Hall of Chungnam National University's International Culture Center, bringing together young job seekers and working professionals to exchange views on employment and career paths.
Jabdam Live has been held since 2024 to improve young people's perceptions of local companies and support their professional growth and settlement in the region.
Through the initiative, the city selects what it calls "youth-attracting firms" — businesses that stand out in wages, welfare, working conditions and growth potential. Since 2024 through this month, a cumulative 50 companies have partnered with the city to address youth employment challenges in the region.
At Tuesday's event, five executives, human resources managers and working professionals from two youth-attracting firms — Alteogen and Inspace — met with about 200 young job seekers. Participants shared experiences on job preparation, work duties, workplace life and settling into local employment, while attendees posed questions directly to the panelists and discussed their career concerns.
The city said it plans to continue offering a range of support measures — including programs to strengthen employability, job information services and connections with local companies — to help young people find work in the region and settle there.
"I hope today's meeting will serve as a foundation for a better tomorrow for both young people and companies alike," Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jeong said. "Daejeon city will focus its policy efforts so that local young people can stay in Daejeon after graduation and build their futures here."
