Tenmainds' AI Sleepbot joins Samsung SmartThings, set for November launch

Tenmainds, a healthcare device company, is expanding its next-generation sleep management solution, the AI Sleepbot, into Samsung Electronics' smart home platform — broadening its sleep care reach to cover the entire bedroom.

Tenmainds said Tuesday that the AI Sleepbot has received official Works with SmartThings (WWST) certification from Samsung Electronics and completed integration with the SmartThings platform. The company plans to officially launch the AI Sleepbot in the domestic market in November.

Unlike conventional sleep devices that simply measure data and deliver a next-day research note, the AI Sleepbot detects a user's condition in real time from the moment they fall asleep, allowing the pillow to respond physically and optimize the bedroom environment through the Internet of Things.

The device activates automatically when a user lies down and shuts off on its own when they wake up, requiring no manual operation or wearable. When it detects snoring by analyzing sounds during sleep, an internal airbag inflates to adjust the height and angle of the user's head, clearing the airway and helping ease snoring.

The core technology is a proprietary non-contact sleep sensing system called AI Air. The pillow itself contains no electronic sensors or motors; instead, minute changes in air pressure are detected through an air hose connected to an external unit, enabling precise tracking of occupancy, movement and head position.

With the SmartThings integration, sleep management now extends from the pillow to the entire bedroom. Sleep data gathered by the AI Sleepbot can be used to control compatible SmartThings devices — including lights, air conditioners, humidifiers and air purifiers — in a coordinated way. At bedtime, lights dim or switch off and appliances shift to sleep mode; in the morning, lights, curtains and heating or cooling units activate in line with the user's wake-up routine.

Tenmainds has won the CES Innovation Award five times between 2020 and 2025, including the Best of Innovation Award in 2024. The company has also been deepening a strategic partnership with sleep AI firm Asleep to combine sleep-analysis software with its non-contact sensing and control technology.

Industry observers note that sleep-tech devices, long confined to simply recording sleep data, are evolving into an active "control" stage — one in which integration with major platforms allows them to reshape the sleep environment in real time.

"We will deliver a new sleep experience where the pillow responds at the right moment and seamlessly connects to the broader bedroom environment, all without the user having to operate any separate device," said Jang Seung-woong, chief executive of Tenmainds.
