Shinhan Financial Group said Tuesday it had discussed ways for Korean and Japanese financial institutions to cooperate on climate finance and digital finance.
Shinhan Financial participated Monday in a conference titled "Building Trustworthy Climate Finance Infrastructure in Asia," held at the Korea Financial Investment Association in Yeouido, Seoul. The event was organized by Yonsei University's Graduate School of Environmental Finance and the Korea Green Finance Forum, with Shinhan Financial as a sponsor. Attendees included representatives from domestic and overseas universities, research institutions, financial regulators and the Asian Development Bank.
Participants discussed climate transition finance policy, digital finance innovation and the future direction of digital asset markets. The conference framed climate finance and digital finance not as separate agendas but as shared challenges for Asian financial markets, exploring potential areas of cooperation.
Shinhan Financial shared its transition finance strategy and approaches to digital asset regulatory compliance during a panel discussion on "The Future of Climate and Digital Finance in Asia."
"Climate change and digital transformation are critical forces driving change in the financial industry," a Shinhan Financial official said. "We will continue to work closely with Korean and Japanese financial institutions to pursue sustainable development and new business opportunities in climate and digital finance."
