Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o hosted a public information session Tuesday afternoon on the planned renovation of Sangye Library, gathering residents at the auditorium of the Northern General Social Welfare Center in Sangye-dong to review the project's progress and hear community input.
The session was organized to share plans for upgrading the aging public library facility and to improve cultural services and amenities for local residents. Assembly members, area residents and library officials attended.
The event opened with a progress report on the project, followed by an expert lecture on recent library trends, a presentation of the detailed design plan, and a community dialogue session. The expert lecture outlined the direction of the library's reopening project and covered the basic design scheme and interior plans.
District Mayor Seo reviewed the detailed design plans closely and listened to residents' views through open dialogue and a question-and-answer session.
"We will reflect the opinions proposed by residents in the project plan," Seo said. "We will support Sangye Library so that, through this remodeling, it can be reborn as an even safer, more comfortable community-centered cultural complex."
