Jungnang-gu held its 12th Local Public Safety Council meeting Tuesday in partnership with the Jungnang Police Station to address community safety issues.
The meeting brought together council members and representatives from related agencies, including District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi, Jungnang Police Station Chief Kang Gyeong-han, Jungnang District Council Speaker Park Yeol-wan and Jungnang Fire Department Chief Lee Mi-ja. Participants discussed key public safety issues: designating child protection zones and strengthening school commute safety, expanding CCTV coverage and security infrastructure in vulnerable areas, coordinating nighttime patrol checks in parks, collaborating on voice phishing prevention campaigns, and stepping up traffic safety activities for the elderly and mobility-impaired.
The district received a top rating of Grade 1 in the lifestyle safety category of the "2025 Regional Safety Index," published by the Ministry of Interior and Safety in February.
The result reflects residents' commitment to safety practices and the district's sustained safety management efforts. Jungnang-gu plans to continue expanding residential-area safety infrastructure and tightening management of risk factors to raise overall safety standards across the community.
"It is important for relevant agencies to work together to monitor and respond to safety issues that directly affect residents' daily lives," District Mayor Ryu said. "We will continue to work closely with partner agencies to build a community where residents can feel safe and secure."
