Residents of Guro-gu can now find tourism, accommodation and activity discounts for eight sister cities — Namwon, Gurye-gun, Goesan-gun, Yecheon-gun, Yeongwol-gun, Danyang-gun, Haenam-gun and Dangjin — all in one place on the district website
Residents of Guro-gu planning a domestic trip ahead of the October holiday can take advantage of discounts at tourism, accommodation and activity facilities in the district's eight sister cities.
Guro-gu has launched a new "Domestic Sister-City Discount Guide" page on its official website, consolidating information that previously had to be checked separately for each city, the district office said.
Residents can find participating facilities and discount details by navigating to "About Guro → Sister Cities → Domestic Sister-City Discount Guide" on the Guro-gu website.
Guro-gu currently maintains exchange partnerships with eight domestic cities: Namwon (since 1999), Gurye-gun (2005), Goesan-gun (2008), Yecheon-gun (2011), Yeongwol-gun (2014), Danyang-gun (2018), Haenam-gun (2019) and Dangjin (2023).
The district has built ties with these cities across a range of areas, including participation in local festivals and cultural and youth exchange programs.
When visiting these sister cities, Guro-gu residents can receive discounts at a wide variety of venues — from tourist attractions to accommodation, camping and activity facilities. Notable examples include Gwanghallu Garden and the Astronomical Science Museum in Namwon, Seongbulsan Natural Recreation Forest in Goesan-gun, Jangneung Royal Tomb, Cheongnyeongpo and Byeolmaro Observatory in Yeongwol-gun, the aquarium and Mancheonha Skywalk in Danyang-gun, the Dinosaur Museum and Ttangkkeut Auto Camping Park in Haenam-gun, and Dangjin Ocean Camping Park.
In Gurye-gun, residents can use a family hotel, the Korea Pressed Flower Museum and Jirisan Garden at discounted prices, while Yecheon-gun offers discounts at camping sites and hands-on facilities focused on insects, archery, and astronomy and space.
Discount rates and eligibility conditions vary by facility, so residents are advised to check the details on the website and contact each facility before visiting to confirm whether the discount applies and how to verify Guro-gu residency.
