LG CNS is introducing a data center solution that packages GPUs, power systems and cooling equipment into standardized prefabricated modules for on-site installation — a design aimed at cutting AI infrastructure build times and allowing capacity to scale up in stages as computing demand grows.

The company unveiled the Prefab Modular Data Center (PMDC) and an AI Factory Full-Stack Service at Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2026, held in Singapore on Tuesday, it announced Wednesday.

The PMDC bundles the GPUs, servers, power systems and cooling equipment needed to run an AI factory into standardized modules that are manufactured in advance and then installed on-site.

Compared with the conventional approach of constructing a data center building first and then separately installing mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure alongside AI systems, the modular method reduces on-site work. When AI computing demand rises, operators can expand capacity simply by adding modules.

LG CNS combined its own data center design, build and operate (DBO) capabilities with LG Electronics' modular cooling infrastructure solution and LG Energy Solution's battery solution. The company plans to help customers deploy AI infrastructure when they need it and scale up in phases as their business grows.

The company is also pursuing a modular AI factory project built on the PMDC. Rather than securing large sites or constructing dedicated data center buildings, the approach uses compact, container-format AI data centers. Containers can be added according to the functions required and the scale of AI computing needed.

LG CNS has launched two modules based on Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin GPU: a 4-megawatt IT-load module and a 1.2-megawatt module based on the GB300. The company plans to expand its modular AI factory product lineup with additional specifications.

LG CNS also unveiled an AI Factory Full-Stack Service built on Vera Rubin.

The service integrates three layers: GPUaaS (GPU as a Service), which delivers Vera Rubin GPU resources in cloud form; an Intelligence Service supporting real-time training and inference for physical AI and other workloads; and the power and cooling technology needed to operate them.

LG CNS plans to continue advancing its GPU computing performance and power and cooling technology while expanding its AI data center business into Southeast Asia, North America and Europe.

"The AI factory is a total service combining data centers, GPU infrastructure and AI services," said Kim Tae-hoon, executive vice president and head of LG CNS's AI Cloud Business Division. "We will strengthen our business competitiveness on the back of our data center design, build and operate capabilities and AI infrastructure technology."

Meanwhile, LG CNS secured more than 1 trillion won ($735 million) in large-scale data center DBO contracts in the first half of this year. During the same period, sales from its AI and cloud business reached 1.67 trillion won, accounting for about 59 percent of total sales. The company is advancing hyperscale AI data center projects in Samseong and Jukjeon, while expanding the modular AI data center as a new DBO business model.
