Black Yak foundation sends W2b in relief supplies to Nepal flood victims

The Black Yak Kang Tae-sun Sharing Foundation, an affiliate of BYN Black Yak Group, said Wednesday it had provided about 2 billion won ($1.47 million) worth of relief supplies to communities hit by severe flooding in Nepal.

The aid package — consisting of Black Yak apparel, blankets, mats and water bottles — was delivered to flood-affected residents through World Share, an international relief and development NGO.

Black Yak, a brand rooted in the Himalayas, has maintained longstanding ties with the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Sherpa communities and Icefall Doctors, supporting mountain environmental conservation and local community development. The company also dispatched an emergency relief team and donated supplies and funds following the Nepal earthquake in 2015.

Foundation Chairman Kang Tae-sun said he hoped the relief supplies would offer at least some comfort to those displaced, adding that the foundation would continue taking concrete action and providing support to help overcome the climate crisis.
