'Will deliver a new SUV experience,' CEO says
Porsche Korea announced Wednesday that it is officially launching the Cayenne Electric, Porsche's second all-electric sport utility vehicle, in South Korea.
The top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers 1,156 horsepower and maximum torque of 153.0 kgf·m under launch control, powered by a newly developed drive system. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and to 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds, with a top speed of 260 km/h.
The standard Cayenne Electric produces 442 horsepower and 85.0 kgf·m of torque under launch control, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.8 seconds. Both models feature all-wheel-drive-based electronic Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) and support up to 600 kW of regenerative braking, delivering Formula E-level performance.
A newly developed 113 kWh high-voltage battery incorporates dual-sided cooling technology for optimal thermal management. This gives the Cayenne Electric a maximum range of 512 km and the Cayenne Turbo Electric up to 468 km.
The vehicles also support DC charging of up to 390 kW based on 800V technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in under 16 minutes. The Cayenne Electric is also the first Porsche to offer wireless charging as an option, supporting up to 11 kW.
Standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and rear-axle steering with up to five degrees of articulation, providing stability, dynamic handling and ride comfort. The Turbo model adds Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus with a limited-slip rear differential, and Porsche Active Ride — an active suspension system — is available on the Cayenne lineup for the first time.
The Cayenne Electric combines Porsche's signature proportions with a sharper, more refined design. A low hood fitted with slim matrix LED headlights, a bold wing line and Porsche's distinctive flyline all reinforce the model's identity. The rear features a 3D light strip and illuminated Porsche lettering, while the Turbo model receives a range of design elements finished in exclusive Turbonite colors.
Inside, the newly developed Porsche Driver Experience centers on a curved OLED flow display that elevates the digital driving experience. The cabin features a 14.25-inch OLED fully digital instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch front passenger display, along with an augmented reality head-up display making its Cayenne debut.
The Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) system precisely controls the vehicle's aerodynamic characteristics based on driving conditions and speed, providing additional downforce for dynamic performance alongside an efficient control strategy.
The Cayenne Electric measures 4,985 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,674 mm in height. Its wheelbase of 3,023 mm — about 130 mm longer than the combustion-engine model — improves rear-seat comfort. Cargo capacity reaches up to 1,588 liters, complemented by a 90-liter front luggage compartment, and the vehicle can tow up to 3.5 tonnes when equipped with the off-road package.
Porsche Korea CEO Mathias Busse said South Korea is an important market with strong customer preference for the Cayenne and a rapidly advancing shift toward electrification. "The Cayenne Electric will deliver a new SUV experience that combines Porsche's signature performance, everyday usability and electrification," he said.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric will be the first to go on sale in South Korea, followed by the Cayenne S Electric and the Cayenne Electric. Coupe variants are also scheduled for a sequential launch.
Domestic prices start at 142.3 million won ($105,000) for the Cayenne Electric, 163.8 million won for the Cayenne S Electric and 189.6 million won for the Cayenne Turbo Electric.
Meanwhile, Porsche Korea has been expanding its brand presence through a range of marketing activities, including sponsoring the "K-Heritage Art Exhibition: Line of Connection," held at Nakseonjae within Changdeokgung, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
