Broadcaster Bae Sung-jae, 48, to become father as wife expects baby by year's end

Broadcaster Bae Sung-jae, 48, and his wife, announcer Kim Da-young, 34, are expecting their first child about a year and a half after their marriage.

Kim is due to give birth by the end of this year, according to Yonhap.

The couple dated for two years before marrying in May last year. They skipped a formal wedding ceremony, marking the occasion instead with a small family dinner.

Bae began his broadcasting career at KBS Gwangju before joining SBS in 2006 as part of its 14th announcer cohort.

After leaving SBS in 2021, he has worked as an MC on entertainment programs and as a sports commentator for various international competitions.

Kim joined SBS as an experienced-hire announcer in 2021, hosting the weekday sports segment on "SBS 8 News" and "Sports Tonight," among other programs. She also appeared on the entertainment show "Kick a Goal" and left SBS in April last year.
