Jang blames landmine blast on Moon's guard post demolition, Lee's inaction

People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok said a landmine explosion near the truce line that left a South Korean soldier seriously injured was the result of the Moon Jae-in administration's demolition of guard posts and the Lee Jae Myung administration's failure to act.

Writing on his Facebook page Wednesday, Jang said the blast was "the outcome of the Moon Jae-in administration tearing down the guard posts and the Lee Jae Myung administration standing idly by," and added that "it was a joint operation by Kim Jong-un, Lee Jae Myung and Moon Jae-in that blew off the ankle of our battalion commander."

He warned that "the government must move swiftly to deliver a strong punitive response, and the longer our retaliation is delayed, the more recklessly North Korea will act."

Jang criticized the government's tepid response, noting that "the UN Command, following its on-site investigation, found North Korean anti-personnel mines in our territory and issued an official statement that this constitutes a violation of the Armistice Agreement," and asking, "What more is the government waiting for?"

He then said President Lee Jae Myung "continues to stay silent, unable to utter a single word to North Korea, and keeps tediously repeating talk of 'conspiracy theories,'" and criticized Lee as "not the president of the Republic of Korea, but Kim Jong-un's personal mood guardian."
