South Korean judoka Jung Su-jin of Yongin University was eliminated from the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games before competing, after failing a same-day random weigh-in.
Jung did not appear for her round-of-16 bout in the women's 48-kilogram category against Aliya Muminova of Tajikistan at the Aichi International Arena in Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday.
According to a Korea Judo Association official, Jung had passed the official weigh-in on Tuesday but failed a random weigh-in conducted on the morning of competition day.
The allowable limit for the random weigh-in is 5 percent above the weight class, meaning Jung was permitted up to 50.4 kilograms — but she reportedly exceeded that limit by 100 grams.
Jung ultimately exited the individual event at her first Asian Games without competing in a single bout.
She had been considered a rising prospect, having won bronze medals at the Junior Asian Championships in both 2024 and 2025.
