Mid-sized homebuilders to offer 3,819 units nationwide in October, with supply concentrated in Incheon and Gyeonggi Province

Mid-sized homebuilders plan to offer 3,819 units for pre-sale across the country in October, a 57 percent drop from the previous month, with Seoul accounting for just 18 units.

The Korea Housing Builders Association said Wednesday that a survey of its member companies found eight firms plan to put a combined 3,819 units on the market across eight project sites this October.

The figure is down 6,132 units from last month but up 399 units from the same month last year. By region, the Greater Seoul area will account for 3,288 units — 18 in Seoul, 1,754 in Incheon and 1,516 in Gyeonggi Province — with Incheon and Gyeonggi Province together making up 86 percent of the total.

Gangwon Province will see 264 units offered and South Chungcheong Province 267 units. Total supply outside the Greater Seoul area stands at 531 units, down 76 percent from the previous month. Supply within the Greater Seoul area, however, is up 74 percent from the same month last year, when 1,397 units were offered.
