Seoripool Nori School Bangbae 2-dong Branch No. 2, Bangbae Child Care Support Center, and Bangbae 2-dong Elementary Kium Center open Thursday; facilities serve the 3,064-unit DH Bangbae apartment complex, where move-ins begin this month
Seocho-gu will begin operating three newly built child care and play facilities inside the DH Bangbae apartment complex starting Thursday.
The three facilities — Seoripool Nori School Bangbae 2-dong Branch No. 2, the Bangbae Child Care Support Center, and the Bangbae 2-dong Elementary Kium Center — were established in line with the start of move-ins this month at DH Bangbae, a 3,064-unit reconstruction complex in the Bangbae Zone 5 area. They are designed to provide tailored child care services covering everyday care, play and learning.
Seoripool Nori School Bangbae 2-dong Branch No. 2, located on the first floor of the community facility beneath Building 111, has been set up as an indoor playground where preschool-age children can play safely year-round. The space features large-muscle activity zones with a ball pool, climbing wall and slides, as well as areas for digital sketching, kitchen play and block play. Reservations can be made through the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Woori Dongne Kium Portal.
Also opening on the first floor, the Bangbae Child Care Support Center has relocated from its previous home at the Seocho Veterans Hall (13 Bangbaero 27-gil) and reopened in a larger, more comfortable space. The center's toy library stocks more than 1,200 toys selected to match the developmental stages of infants and toddlers; for an annual membership fee of 10,000 won ($7), members may borrow two items at a time for up to 14 days.
The center also runs a customized toy rental service for infants and toddlers with developmental delays, offering play-based developmental support to ease the financial burden on families and expand children's opportunities for play.
The Bangbae Child Care Support Center also operates a part-time care room for families with infants between 6 and 36 months old who are not enrolled in a daycare center or kindergarten and receive parental allowances or child-rearing subsidies. The service is expected to fill temporary gaps in care coverage.
When parents face sudden situations — such as an unplanned hospital visit — and need someone to look after their child, they can book care through the Aisarang comprehensive pregnancy and parenting portal.
The Bangbae 2-dong Elementary Kium Center, opening on the first floor of Building 118, provides after-school care for children aged 6 to 12, including elementary school students. The center runs a range of programs covering basic life skills, foundational academic support, recreational activities and a science detective club. Families seeking regular or occasional care can make reservations through the Woori Dongne Kium Portal.
