Woman stabs husband after he dares her to, then attacks responding officer

A woman in her 40s was arrested after stabbing her husband with a sharp object during a drunken argument and then assaulting a police officer who responded to the scene.

The Cheongju Heungdeok Police Station said Wednesday it had apprehended the woman, identified only as A, on charges of aggravated assault and obstruction of official duties.

A is accused of attacking her husband, B, with a sharp object at their home in Bokdae-dong, Cheongju, at around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, injuring him.

A, who was intoxicated at the time, also allegedly scratched the face of an officer who arrived at the scene in response to a report of the incident.

Police said their investigation found that A had flown into a rage after her husband told her to "go ahead and stab me" during the argument, prompting her to act on it.

Police are continuing to question both A and B to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
