Samsung Welstory strengthens food ingredient-catering synergy
Lobster special with Vikings Wharf served to 13,000 diners
Bears Taco collaboration to debut in October with fajita platter
Samsung Welstory announced Thursday that it is expanding synergies across its business units by bringing restaurant menus from food ingredient clients — including Vikings Wharf and Bears Taco — into its corporate cafeterias.
Samsung Welstory supplies food ingredients to more than 2,000 restaurant franchise clients and operates over 500 catering sites. The company said it plans to strengthen its "360 Solution" program, which supports the business growth of ingredient clients through collaborative cafeteria menus, while also pushing to elevate the quality of its catering offerings.
Samsung Welstory has been collaborating with premium seafood restaurant Vikings Wharf to offer special dishes featuring lobsters imported directly from Canada. Since July, the company has served lobster menus to 13,000 diners across 11 corporate cafeterias.
The partnership with Vikings Wharf, which distributes large volumes of lobster directly, allowed Samsung Welstory to offer high-quality lobster dishes rarely seen in cafeteria settings, drawing a strong response from diners. The cafeterias were also decorated using Vikings Wharf's brand identity to recreate the feel of visiting a well-known seafood restaurant.
Starting in October, Samsung Welstory will launch its first collaboration with Bears Taco, a Mexican food brand and ingredient client that operates more than 30 stores nationwide. The partnership will introduce a "single-serving fajita platter" — a cafeteria-friendly reinterpretation of the dish typically shared among three or four people.
The platter lets diners mix and match main proteins — chicken, beef, shrimp or pulled pork — with a variety of sauces. Alongside this, the menu will also include easy-to-serve items such as burritos, burrito bowls and tacos made with Bears Taco's dedicated sauces and meats, supplied exclusively by Samsung Welstory.
"We are creating new growth opportunities by connecting competitive brands from our ingredient clients with catering sites across the country," a Samsung Welstory official said. "We will continue to develop new collaboration models that organically link our customers, products and channels to enhance customer satisfaction."
