The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced Wednesday that it will recruit 269 teachers for public and private secondary schools for the 2027 academic year, publishing its official plan for the appointment examination.
The breakdown covers 232 positions across 25 subjects at public schools and 37 positions across 15 subjects at private schools.
Applications for the public school examination will be accepted online through the public school staff recruitment system from Oct. 12 to 16.
The first-round exam is scheduled for Nov. 28, followed by the second-round exam on Jan. 14, 20 and 21 next year, with final results to be announced Feb. 5.
The private school examination will be administered by the city education office on behalf of 16 private school foundations that plan to hire new teachers this year.
The application period and first-round exam schedule are the same as for public schools, while subsequent exam stages and final results will follow each school foundation's own selection timeline.
The simultaneous public-private application system will again be in effect this year, allowing applicants for Daegu public schools to apply concurrently to participating private school foundations in the city.
The five foundations eligible for simultaneous applications are Gyeonghui Education Foundation, Daegu Namsan Academy, Muyeol Education Foundation, Yeongjin Academy and Jeonghwa Education Foundation.
