Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Jo Yu-jin attended the Inclusive Lifestyle Sports Festival for People with Disabilities at Yeouido Park on Wednesday morning, cheering on participants throughout the event.
The festival brings together people with and without disabilities to enjoy recreational sports as a team, promoting unity and inclusion. This year's event drew about 550 participants, including athletes, referees and event staff.
Participants with disabilities formed teams with family members, volunteers and personal care assistants to compete in five events: ad-balloon volleyball, ball-pit basketball, basket pyramid, giant Jenga and a group relay ball-rolling race.
"On this clear autumn Wednesday, I am sincerely grateful to everyone who joined us today," District Mayor Jo said. "I will do my utmost to build a Yeongdeungpo where people with and without disabilities come together in harmony."
