Emoticons based on winning entries from 2025 DDC design contest
Dongducheon will distribute 30,000 free emoticons featuring the city's mascot character DDC to residents subscribed to its official KakaoTalk notification channel, the city announced Friday.
The 16 emoticon designs are based on winning entries from the DDC Emoticon Design Contest held in 2025. Capturing a range of DDC's expressions and movements suited for everyday conversation, the emoticons are intended to help residents engage with the city's character in their daily lives.
This year, the city will give existing subscribers priority access as a gesture of appreciation for their continued support. Once existing subscribers have received their share of the 30,000 total, the remaining emoticons will be made available to new subscribers.
The city urged residents to follow its weekly Friday KakaoTalk updates on city affairs consistently. It also plans to select and distribute popular DDC emoticons again in 2027.
