Applications open through Oct. 23 for AI- and digital-based vocational training support
Korea University of Technology and Education's Online Lifelong Education Institute announced Friday that it is accepting applications from training institutions, companies, public institutions and vocational high schools to join the STEP learning management system as new participants through Oct. 23, in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
STEP, short for Smart Training Education Platform, is a public online education and training platform open to all citizens.
The STEP LMS allows institutions to build vocational training courses from more than 4,500 open-market content offerings — including 162 modules covering AI fundamentals and AI+X programs — and also supports revenue-generating operations using an institution's own proprietary content.
The platform offers a range of features to support online learning management tailored to each institution's educational goals and operating environment, including real-time interactive live seminars, online assessments, team projects, discussion forums and mobile learning.
Han Yeon-hee, director of the Online Lifelong Education Institute at Korea University of Technology and Education, said the vocational training landscape is changing rapidly with AI and digital transformation. "We will actively support STEP in becoming a vocational training platform that underpins AI and digital transformation across diverse settings — including training institutions, companies, public institutions and vocational high schools — and enables anyone to build the competencies they need," she said.
Detailed schedules and application procedures for the STEP LMS new-institution recruitment are available on the STEP website. Results will be announced in November.
