Youth b-boy performances take the stage Friday in front of Nabi Shopping Mall on Cheonho Rodeo Street; Saturday brings live busking and an Angel Craft Workshop flea market at Bitsal Culture Park
Seoul's Gangdong-gu will host "Youth in Bloom on the Streets — Gangdong Youth Busking" along Cheonho Rodeo Street over two days, Friday and Saturday.
The event is designed to give young local artists a performance platform while revitalizing Cheonho Rodeo Street as a cultural space where residents and nearby businesses can come together.
On Friday, youth b-boy performances will take place in front of Nabi Shopping Mall on Cheonho Rodeo Street. Ready to Play kicks off the evening at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Hanam City B-Boy Team, which takes the stage from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a breaking performance. The district expects visitors to enjoy the dynamic routines up close.
On Saturday, the festival moves to Bitsal Culture Park for an evening of live performances. Ryu Ha opens at 6 p.m., followed by Hyeon Seoul at 6:40 p.m. and Heo Jun-ho at 7:20 p.m., with the program running until 8 p.m. and open to all. In addition, the Gangdong-gu Angel Craft Workshop youth flea market will run alongside the performances from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Six craft workshops will participate, offering handmade goods and food — including natural-stone jewelry, diffusers, small desk plants, music-box DIY kits, traditional fermented condiments and traditional knotwork.
"From b-boying to acoustic music and fusion gugak, there is something for everyone, and the youth craft vendors' flea market adds even more to enjoy — I hope many residents will come out and have a great time," Gangdong-gu District Mayor Lee Su-hee said. "We will keep working to make Cheonho Rodeo Street a place where young people gather and culture and the arts can thrive."
