Cosmic Girls' Dayoung sparks debate after close fan interaction at university festival

A stage performance by Dayoung, a member of the girl group Cosmic Girls, at a university festival has sparked debate online.

On Friday, Dayoung took the stage at Hanyang University's festival, actively engaging with the audience and energizing the crowd.

Footage of a particular fan-service moment from the performance spread online, drawing widespread attention.

In the video, Dayoung seats a male audience member in a chair on stage, then perches beside him as the performance continues. She places her hand on his shoulder, while he wraps his arm around her waist. The two then embrace to close out the performance.

Reactions from online viewers were divided. Some criticized the performance as overly bold, with comments including "fans must be upset," "it seems a bit too much," "it's embarrassing" and "it looks too suggestive."

Others pushed back against the criticism, saying "the performance was bold and great," "this is a controversy over nothing" and "that's what real fan service looks like."
