The KPGA Tour's The Charity Classic 2026 will be held from Oct. 15 to 18 at Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
The four-day tournament carries a purse of 1 billion won ($736,000), with a winner's share of 200 million won, and will feature 102 players competing for the title. Among the field are Park Sang-hyun, the all-time leading money winner on the KPGA Tour, and Song Min-hyuk.
Dong-A Socio Group has a long history of golf sponsorship dating to 1976, when Dong-A Pharmaceutical launched the Oranc-C Open Golf Championship — the first golf tournament sponsored by a private company in South Korea. In 2024, the group introduced The Charity Classic, a tournament built around the theme of social contribution.
The Charity Classic places giving at the heart of the event: competing players donate 10 percent of their prize money, and the organizer contributes a matching grant. Over the past two years, the tournament has raised a cumulative 2.53 billion won, which has been used through August this year to help cover medical costs for 157 children with serious illnesses.
Park, who has maintained a 12-year relationship with Dong-A Pharmaceutical, will again contend for the title this year. Song, a four-time champion at the Bacchus National Student Golf Team Championship, will also compete as a Dong-A Pharmaceutical representative.
This year's tournament will be open to spectators free of charge. Galleries who donate 10,000 won or more will receive commemorative gifts and raffle tickets, with proceeds going toward medical treatment costs for children with serious illnesses.
