Gangnam-gu will participate in Smart Life Week (SLW) 2026, held at COEX in Seoul from Oct. 6 to 8, showcasing the district's smart-city policies alongside AI and robotics technologies developed by local innovators.

Smart Life Week is an international exhibition where cities and companies from around the world share technologies and policies in the smart-city sector. Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul AI Foundation, this year's event runs under the slogan "Where AI Meets Life, Cities Become Better" and features corporate and municipal exhibitions, an international forum, the Seoul Smart City Awards and a business networking program.

Gangnam-gu will operate the Gangnam Pavilion together with four smart-city pilot companies and one robotics firm — five companies in total. The pavilion focuses not merely on technology displays but on presenting real-world applications and case studies drawn from deployments across Gangnam. The initiative aims to raise the profile of Gangnam-gu's smart-city policies while helping participating companies promote their technologies and open new market channels.

The five participating companies are Zero Labs Korea, Byeolddareo Gaja, Preventer, BIC&S and Korea Robotics. Zero Labs Korea will present an AI administrative assistant that helps residents with resident registration and tax affairs. Byeolddareo Gaja will introduce an AI- and IoT-based safety management system for electric mobility devices, while Preventer will showcase a smart park management solution that uses rainwater. BIC&S will display a smart bus-stop kiosk powered by AI voice-recognition technology, and Korea Robotics will exhibit an AI-driven large-capacity cooking robot. Together, the exhibits offer visitors a single venue to see how cutting-edge technology addresses everyday urban challenges spanning administration, transportation, safety, the environment and school meals.

The Gangnam Pavilion will also highlight the district's key smart-city policies and achievements, and facilitate exchanges between participating companies and cities, institutions and businesses from home and abroad. At Smart Life Week 2025 last year, the six booths Gangnam-gu operated drew about 700 visitors, and the participating companies held more than 90 consultations, investment discussions and follow-up meetings.

"Advanced technologies such as AI and robotics are a vital force for solving urban problems and transforming residents' daily lives," Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki said. "We will actively support participating companies in finding new markets and partnership opportunities, not just introduce the innovative technologies proven in Gangnam to audiences at home and abroad."
