Round of 64 results from the LPBA
The fortunes of LPBA season champions diverged sharply Monday, as Kim Ga-young (Hana Card) and Park Jeong-hyeon (Harim) advanced to the round of 32 while Sruong Pheavy (Cambodia, Woori Financial Capital) was eliminated in the round of 64.
Kim defeated Yun Gyeong-nam 25-9 in 23 innings in the LPBA round of 64 at the PBA Stadium in Goyang Kintex, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, as part of the fourth tour of the 2026-2027 season — the Crown Haitai PBA-LPBA Championship.
Kim, the season-opener Woori Financial Capital Championship winner, trailed 2-5 before firing a high run of seven points in the fourth inning to take a 9-5 lead. She added five more in the sixth inning to pull ahead 14-6 and closed out the match comfortably.
Kim holds 19 career LPBA titles and is chasing her 20th career win and a career prize total surpassing 1 billion won ($736,000) at this tournament. Her round-of-32 opponent will be Jeon Eo-ram, who beat Kim Hyo-jeong 15-12 in 27 innings.
Park Jeong-hyeon, winner of the third-tour SY Championship, also advanced, defeating Im Hye-won 22-15 in 26 innings. Park seized control by landing two five-point long runs after the score was tied at 5-5.
Sruong, who won the second-tour High1 Resort Championship, fell to Seo Yu-ri 13-22 in 28 innings. Seo scored in five consecutive innings from the eighth through the 12th, then added a four-point high run in the 13th to open a 12-4 lead that Sruong could not overcome. Kim Min-a (NH NongHyup Card) also exited, losing to Go Eun-gyeong 15-24 in 25 innings.
Lee Mi-rae (High1 Resort), Jeong Su-bin (NH NongHyup Card), Choi Hye-mi (Welcome Savings Bank), Kang Ji-eun (High1 Resort) and Kim Se-yeon (Huons) also advanced to the round of 32.
Lee Seung-hee, 16, the youngest player in the LPBA, drew level with Kim Jeong-mi at 19-19 after 24 innings and then won the high-run tiebreaker 4-3 to secure her place in the round of 32.
