Kim Jong-min, a member of the mixed-gender group Koyote, is expecting his first child.
According to Koyote's agency J-Star, Kim said during a recent recording of The Return of Superman that his wife is 17 weeks pregnant.
"I quit drinking for a year and took care of my health to have a child," he said. "I think that's why the baby came along so quickly."
Further details, including the baby's sex, are set to be revealed on Wednesday's episode of the KBS 2TV variety show The Return of Superman.
If the baby is born, Kim will become the first Koyote member to be a parent. Fellow member Shin Ji married last May and has no children yet, while Baek Ga remains unmarried.
Kim married his wife, a businesswoman 11 years his junior, in April last year.
He had previously expressed his wish to become a father on several programs he regularly appears on, including KBS 2TV's 1 Night 2 Days and The Return of Superman, as well as SBS's My Little Old Boy, saying it was his "lifelong wish to be a dad."
