Group takes 'Best of Show' and four industry titles at US WMA's 2026 WebAward Competition; also wins at W3 Awards and K-Design Award
The Hyundai Motor Group official website has earned consecutive wins at major global web and digital awards, demonstrating the group's strength in digital communication.
Hyundai Motor Group announced Tuesday that its website took "Best of Industry" honors in four categories — automotive, media, news and PR — simultaneously at the 2026 WebAward Competition organized by the US Web Marketing Association (WMA) in September, and was ultimately named "Best of Show," the competition's top distinction awarded to just one site among all entries.
The WebAward Competition is a prestigious global website award run by the WMA. Past "Best of Show" recipients include the websites of global brands and institutions such as Mercedes-AMG, National Geographic, British Airways and Bank of America.
Entries from around the world are divided into 86 industry categories and evaluated by independent expert panels on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use.
Awards are given across four tiers — "Best of Show," "Best of Industry," "Outstanding Website" and "Standard of Excellence." "Best of Show" functions as a grand prize, given to just one site across all entries for the year. "Best of Industry" goes to the top-performing site in each of the 86 industry categories; the Hyundai Motor Group website claimed that honor in all four of its entered categories: automotive, media, news and PR.
The judges praised the website, saying it had "built an integrated PR platform to express the group's evolution beyond mobility into robotics, AI and smart factories," adding that it "delivers a consistent narrative about vision, business and future potential while enabling intuitive content discovery based on real-time data."
The website completed a design and content overhaul in March and has since rolled out a range of AI features to help users navigate information.
An updated "Technology Innovation" menu covers software and AI, electrification, hydrogen energy, vehicle components and manufacturing innovation, and robotics, clearly conveying Hyundai Motor Group's next-generation technology vision and industry leadership. The main page design was also refreshed to highlight key topics through images, video and keywords, improving visual clarity.
In addition, the site introduced AI-powered automatic news summaries and an audio feature that lets users listen to news. The group also restructured the website's system architecture to improve compatibility with AI-driven search environments, ensuring that official information is more accurately recognized and used in AI search results.
Meanwhile, the website also won three honors at the 2026 W3 Awards in September — Gold in the corporate communications and news categories, and Silver in PR. The W3 Awards is a global digital award judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a professional organization in the digital creative field.
In August, the website won in the communication category at the K-Design Award. The K-Design Award is one of South Korea's leading design awards and is recognized as one of Asia's top three design awards, alongside Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award and Hong Kong's Design for Asia Award.
"We are pleased that the renewal — aimed at making Hyundai Motor Group's news and content more accessible and convenient for users — has been recognized through these awards," a Hyundai Motor Group official said. "We will continue to develop the platform into an even more effective communication channel by actively leveraging AI and digital technology."
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group has been steadily expanding its global outreach, including hosting the HMG Tech Talent Forum last month at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, where it introduced the group's future technology vision and real-world innovation cases.
Held under the theme "Growing Together Beyond Boundaries," the forum brought together nine affiliates — Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Motor America, Kia America, Hyundai Motor Group's North America Technical Center (HATCI), Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, Boston Dynamics, Motional and 42dot — to explore the future direction of mobility with top global talent.
