Service begins Thursday, running during peak commute hours
Uiwang will launch Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus route 9902 on Thursday to improve commuting options for residents traveling from Naeson-dong to Pangyo and Bundang.
Route 9902 is a peak-hours-only express metropolitan bus service. Starting from Soksong Maeul in Uiwang, it runs through Naeson-dong before connecting to Pangyo Station and Seohyeon Station, offering commuters a faster alternative to existing routes.
Residents of the Naeson-dong area have long had to take a local village bus to Beomgye Station before transferring to a metropolitan bus to reach Pangyo — a cumbersome two-step journey. During morning rush hours, heavy demand often meant lengthy waits or being left behind as buses filled to capacity, and calls for a direct route have consistently come from the community.
In response, Uiwang worked closely with neighboring municipalities including Seongnam and Anyang, as well as Gyeonggi Province, consistently proposing a Naeson-dong–Pangyo/Bundang corridor as part of the Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus new-route project. That effort culminated in the approval of route 9902.
The new route will stop at Soksong Maeul, Indeogwon Prugio El Centro, Dong-A Ecoville and Persviel, Naeson and Naedong Elementary School, the agricultural and fisheries market, and Cheongye depot before reaching Pangyo Station and Seohyeon Station.
During a soft launch in October, one bus will operate a single morning departure at 7:30 a.m. and a single evening departure at 6:30 p.m. Once the carrier completes vehicle preparations — expected in November — the service will expand to two buses running two morning and two evening trips daily.
In addition, the route will operate on a 100-percent reserved-seat system through a dedicated app, allowing passengers to board without long waits at stops. Fares will follow the standard Greater Seoul integrated transfer discount structure, the same as other metropolitan bus routes.
"We expect the launch of Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus route 9902 to make commuting to Pangyo and Bundang significantly more convenient for our residents," Uiwang Mayor Kim Seong-je said. "We will continue working to ease transportation inconveniences and expand the metropolitan transit network."
Meanwhile, ahead of this launch, Uiwang introduced Gyeonggi Premium Bus route 9901 in 2025, connecting the Woram district to Pangyo. The addition of route 9902 further strengthens metropolitan transit access for residents of the Naeson-dong area heading toward Pangyo and Bundang.
