The festival takes place Oct. 10 at the Guuimun Lawn Plaza of Seoul Children's Grand Park, featuring a family writing and drawing contest, hands-on activity booths, performances and an outdoor film screening.
Gwangjin-gu will hold the "2026 Gwangjin Family Festival," a cultural festival for the whole family, on Saturday at the Guuimun Lawn Plaza of Seoul Children's Grand Park.
The event is designed to offer a full day of programming — afternoon activities for families to enjoy together, capped off with an outdoor film screening in the evening.
From 3 to 6 p.m., families can take part in a writing and drawing contest, sharing stories and expressing their thoughts and imagination through words and pictures while soaking in the autumn atmosphere.
Cultural performances will also be on offer, with a juggling show and a balloon show adding to the festive mood.
Activity booths will be set up throughout the venue, where families and children can try face painting, build solar-powered toy cars and make beaded bracelets.
A flea market will run alongside the main event, offering a variety of goods, and special events are planned for families in attendance.
The festival closes with an outdoor film screening on the autumn lawn. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the family animated film "How to Train Your Dragon" will be shown, giving families a chance to spread out blankets and watch together under the open sky.
"We have put together a rich lineup so families can write, draw, enjoy hands-on activities and performances, and watch a film — all in one place," Gwangjin-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said. "We hope many residents will come out and make special autumn memories together at the 2026 Gwangjin Family Festival."
