Actors Jang Dong-yun, Lee Yu-jin to become brothers-in-law after marrying sisters a month apart

Actors Jang Dong-yun, 34, and Lee Yu-jin, 34, are set to become brothers-in-law after marrying sisters from the same family — Jang in October and Lee in November, just one month apart.

Lee announced Tuesday that he will marry actor Cha Kyung-eun (real name Kim Kyung-eun), 28.

The two met through Lee's directorial debut, a short drama series titled "Gil-i Boiimyeon Casting-hae!" Lee said he fell for Cha at first sight while preparing for the shoot and actively pursued her after filming wrapped.

The couple began dating officially in June with marriage in mind.

Cha is a biological sister of actor Kim Seung-yun, 29, who recently announced her own engagement to Jang Dong-yun. The two are said to be the eldest and second-eldest daughters among three sisters. Jang and Kim are set to wed this month.

The news that two sisters from the same family would hold weddings just one month apart drew skepticism online. "Siblings don't usually get married in the same year — let alone a month apart," one user wrote. Another commented, "There must be a reason for such a sudden marriage. Five months of dating, and on top of that, a month after her sister. Something smells off." Siblings sometimes avoid marrying in the same year, as preparing two major family events back to back places a heavy burden on the family and guests alike.

The online speculation now appears to have had some basis, with reports emerging that Cha is in the early stages of pregnancy. According to Sports Donga, Cha is currently in her first trimester.
