Video contest launched to celebrate opening of Busan used-car center
Entries must be under one minute, with generative AI use permitted
Six winners to share prizes of up to 1 million won
T car, the used-car retail brand of Lotte Rental, announced Thursday it is holding a nationwide short-form video contest to celebrate the opening of its Busan sales center.
Participants are asked to create a promotional video for the Busan center — either filmed on location or produced using generative AI — running no longer than one minute. Both individuals and teams are eligible to enter. Submissions are open through Oct. 31. To enter, participants must upload their video to a personal Instagram account, tag the official Lotte Rental account and include the required hashtags.
Lotte Rental will select six winning entries and award prizes of 1 million won ($744) for first place (one winner), 500,000 won each for second place (two winners) and 300,000 won each for third place (three winners). An additional 50 participants will each receive 10,000 won in Naver Pay points. Winners will be notified in November via the official T car social media account and individual direct messages. Submitted works may be used as promotional content for T car.
A referral event will run alongside the contest. Anyone who shares the contest announcement post through Oct. 28 will be entered into a draw for a chance to win 10,000 won in Naver Pay points, with 50 winners selected. Results will be announced in November.
The company said the contest was designed to raise awareness of the Busan center — which T car opened as part of an effort to expand its regional presence and improve customer accessibility — and to broaden its reach among local customers.
Lotte Rental opened T car's fourth sales center in Nam-gu, Busan, in August. It follows locations in Gayang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul; Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province; and Yongin, Gyeonggi Province — making the Busan site the brand's fourth offline center and its first outside the greater Seoul metropolitan area.
The Busan center has secured space for 350 vehicles within the Busan Gamman automotive sales complex, making it the largest operation in the complex.
The center features dedicated maintenance infrastructure for T car vehicles. A one-stop system handles everything from statutory performance inspections and vehicle preparation to purchase and delivery, streamlining the process after a vehicle arrives at the facility.
Lotte Rental officially launched the T car used-car retail brand in May last year. The brand focuses on supplying vehicles from long-term corporate rental fleets — primarily those used by executives and managers — while excluding short-term rental cars that have had multiple users.
Its core lineup consists of popular Hyundai Motor and Kia models that are three to four years old or newer, reflecting consumer preferences. T car is the first in the industry to offer six months of free warranty repairs covering key components such as the engine, transmission and braking system.
T car buyers also receive ongoing vehicle management services after purchase. A one-year membership covering scheduled home-visit inspections and engine oil changes is provided free of charge under the brand's Chabangjeong and Chabangjeong Plus membership programs.
"We organized this contest so that customers can experience T car in a more approachable way to mark the opening of the Busan center," a Lotte Rental official said. "We look forward to seeing videos filled with fresh and creative ideas."
Meanwhile, Lotte Rental recently scored 86.4 points in the Korean Customer Satisfaction Index survey, topping the car rental category for 11 consecutive years.
