Q4 safety inspections to run Oct. 12 through Dec. 4
Items settled in Q2 review streamlined; repeat violations to get closer scrutiny
Risk assessment committee to convene at Naju factory Oct. 26
Eugene Corp., an affiliate of Eugene Group, will conduct intensive safety inspections at its worksites nationwide, focusing on industrial accident risk factors including falls, entrapment and electric shock. Items where safety management has already taken hold will be subject to streamlined procedures, while recurring problems and areas requiring improvement will receive concentrated attention.
Eugene Corp. announced Thursday that it will carry out its regular fourth-quarter safety and health inspections at worksites across the country from Oct. 12 through Dec. 4.
The inspections will focus on eight major workplace hazards: falls, entrapment, collisions, being struck by objects, being caught under objects, slips and trips, electric shock and fire. Inspectors will also verify whether improvement measures have been implemented for equipment subject to safety checks — including mixers and admixture tanks — and confirm that protective devices installed on key machinery are functioning properly.
Worker safety education and the performance of supervisory personnel will also come under review. The inspections will assess whether regular safety training and job-specific specialized education are being conducted properly, and will examine the status of risk assessments, non-routine work permits and safety management compliance in outsourced construction work.
The inspection approach has been partially revised to reflect the results of the second-quarter safety and health review. Items confirmed as well-established in previous inspections will be subject to simplified procedures, while vulnerable areas and risk factors that have been repeatedly flagged will receive focused scrutiny.
"Safety and health is the top management priority and a fundamental obligation for every worksite," said Choi Jae-ho, chief executive of Eugene Corp. "We will continue to strengthen our safety and health management systems so that inspections, training and risk assessments function properly on the ground."
