Seo Dong-joo recalls driving off cliff in US: 'I was so scared I hit the gas'

Broadcaster Seo Dong-joo has shared the story of a terrifying car accident she experienced in the United States years ago.

A video titled "Avoidance Is This Dangerous | How Is Everyone EP.08" was uploaded Friday to the YouTube channel STUDIO OMG.

In the video, Seo said she got her driver's license at 16 but put off driving for a long time because she did not have a car. "I eventually bought an old used car," she said. "But on the very first day I took it out, I knocked off both side mirrors."

Seo said she refused to give up and went back inside to tape the mirrors on with construction tape. "I kept driving like that, but I was still terrified," she said.

She said she stopped driving for several years after that, then got back behind the wheel during her senior year of university — when another accident occurred.

"I was coming down a mountain and swerved to avoid an oncoming car. I was so scared that I hit the accelerator and went straight off a cliff," Seo said. "Luckily I got caught on a tree and barely survived," she added.
