Table tennis players preparing for the National Sports Festival saved the life of a man who suffered cardiac arrest at a hall in Jeju.
According to the Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters, a man in his 60s, identified only as A, suddenly collapsed Thursday around 10 p.m. while practicing with an automatic ball launcher at a table tennis hall in Hallim-eup, Jeju.
Three table tennis players from Daejeon, who happened to be training at the same hall ahead of the National Sports Festival set to open Oct. 16, confirmed A was in cardiac arrest and immediately performed CPR before handing him over to paramedics who arrived on the scene.
The paramedics administered advanced cardiac life support, including CPR and medication, as they transported A to a hospital.
A recovered spontaneous circulation before reaching the hospital.
