Kang Si-hu, the son of broadcaster Kang Ho-dong, is drawing attention for his pursuit of a career in professional golf.
Practice videos of Kang Si-hu have recently spread across online communities and SNS.
In the footage, he wears a black short-sleeved T-shirt and gray training pants, focused on his swing. His powerful form draws comparisons to his father, a former ssireum grand champion.
Born in 2009, Kang Si-hu stands 188 centimeters tall as a first-year high school student and is ranked 78th by the Korea Golf Association, marking him as a rising prospect in the sport.
Kang Ho-dong previously revealed on a television program that his son had dreamed of becoming a baseball player as a child.
At the time, Kang Ho-dong encouraged his right-handed son to switch to batting left-handed, after which the boy lost interest in baseball and turned to golf.
Kang Si-hu had already attracted attention for his exceptional driving distance since elementary school. Last year, he won the individual title in the boys' high school division at the 36th Seoul Metropolitan Golf Association President's Cup. This year, he finished second at the inaugural Baekdudaegan Cup middle and high school golf tournament and 24th at the Blue One Cup 43rd Korea Junior Golf Championship.
Meanwhile, Kang Ho-dong married a non-celebrity woman in 2006, and the couple have a son, Kang Si-hu.
