Reports of 'flaming flying object' turn out to be cloud-seeding drone

Reports of a flaming flying object spotted over the Yeongdong Expressway in Gangwon Province turned out to involve a cloud-seeding drone, authorities confirmed Sunday.

Fire department officials received a report at around 3:13 p.m. Sunday of a burning flying object near the Daegwallyeong Interchange on the Yeongdong Expressway in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province, according to Yonhap.

Firefighters dispatched to the scene identified the object as a cloud-seeding drone.

No fire or casualties were reported in connection with the object.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
