Unified brand covers both rolled and built-up H-beams
Designed to meet demand from AI data centers, semiconductor fabs
Project-specific solutions to be expanded
Hyundai Steel has launched a unified brand called "H ONE," bringing together its rolled H-beam (RH) and built-up H-beam (BH) product lines as the company moves to accelerate its push into the high-value construction market, it announced Monday.
The company held the H ONE launch event at Pangyo Techone Town Hall in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, with attendees including executives from Hyundai Steel's sales division, key customers from construction companies, distributors and steel fabricators, as well as structural designers and representatives from academic and industry associations.
The market for large-scale structures — including AI data centers, semiconductor fabrication facilities, supertall buildings and large logistics centers — has been expanding, driving increasingly diverse demands for H-beam specifications and structural performance.
AI data centers in particular require high load-bearing structural performance, large cross-sections and non-standard specifications to accommodate massive server arrays, cooling and power systems, and advanced production equipment. The conditions that must be managed throughout project execution — including schedule compression and stable materials procurement — are also growing more complex.
As structural and design requirements for buildings diversify, the ability to supply standard-specification H-beams reliably while also responding flexibly to project-specific custom specifications has become increasingly important.
To address these market shifts, Hyundai Steel integrated RH and BH — each with distinct strengths — under a single brand and established a product supply framework tailored to diverse customer needs.
RH is produced by rolling semi-finished steel into a single integrated form, offering consistent quality and stable supply capacity. BH, manufactured by cutting and welding heavy plates, can respond flexibly to project-specific design requirements such as large cross-sections and non-standard specifications.
Building on its production and sales capabilities and customer network accumulated over many years as South Korea's largest RH supplier, Hyundai Steel has expanded into BH. The company selected 130 core BH specifications that meet the structural characteristics of H-beams — including load-bearing capacity — while ensuring stable weld quality during fabrication, broadening the range of product choices available to customers.
Through H ONE, Hyundai Steel plans to conduct comprehensive reviews of structural requirements, load conditions, specifications, steel grades, quantities and delivery schedules for large construction projects such as AI data centers and semiconductor fabs, then propose optimal RH and BH product combinations. The company will also provide value engineering solutions that account for both structural performance and cost efficiency, improving design efficiency and materials procurement convenience for customers.
In addition, the company plans to gradually expand its service scope from early-stage design review through product selection, cost estimation, procurement, production and delivery, and technical support. The goal is to build an integrated service framework that goes beyond simple product supply to support customers across the full lifecycle of their projects.
"Based on H ONE's product portfolio spanning both RH and BH and our customer response capabilities, we will comprehensively address the full range of H-beam needs and establish H ONE as the integrated solution brand that customers turn to first whenever they have H-beam-related requirements or challenges," said Kim Sung-min, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Steel's sales division.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Steel has also been actively investing in developing global service talent, recently inviting 28 outstanding service personnel from eight countries to Korea for advanced mobility training and tours of key Hyundai Motor Group facilities from Oct. 14 to Oct. 18.
