Lotte Innovate's electric vehicle charging subsidiary EVSIS has signed a membership point-linked partnership with Kia, following similar tie-ups with Hyundai Motor and Lotte. The arrangement lets EV drivers use membership points to purchase charging vouchers, making it easier and cheaper to charge their vehicles.

Lotte Innovate announced Monday that EVSIS and Kia would work together to expand the EV charging customer base.

Through the partnership, EVSIS users can now buy mobile charging vouchers using Kia Members points. Vouchers are available in denominations of 5,000 won ($4), 10,000 won, 30,000 won and 50,000 won, and can be purchased any number of times within an annual limit of 1 million points.

Kia has been strengthening its EV business in recent months, expanding its lineup with the EV series and launching the PV5, a purpose-built vehicle. As the range of EV options grows, so does the importance of services that improve charging convenience for users.

EVSIS had previously partnered with Hyundai Motor's Blumembers in June and with Lotte Members' L.Point in August, and has now extended that network to include Kia Members. The company said it plans to continue offering membership-linked charging benefits to provide EV customers with meaningful savings on charging costs.

To mark the new partnership, EVSIS will run a promotional discount through Dec. 31. During that period, Kia Members subscribers can purchase any of four EVSIS-exclusive mobile charging vouchers at 20 percent off the regular price. Purchased vouchers are valid for one year.

"By joining forces with Kia Members, we have created high-value mobility lifestyle benefits that the growing number of EV drivers can truly feel," said Oh Young-sik, chief executive of EVSIS. "We will continue to expand diverse membership integrations and differentiated partnerships to lower the barriers to charging in every aspect of EV users' daily lives."
