70 first-year high school students; Oct. 24–26
Namyangju is accepting applications from first-year high school students in the city for a one-on-one career and college consulting program, starting Wednesday.
The program is designed to give students a comprehensive review of their academic performance and school life, helping them map out a concrete plan for their future career path and college entrance preparation based on their individual aptitudes and intended fields of study.
Sessions will be held Nov. 14 and Nov. 21 at Jeong Yak-yong Library, open to 70 first-year high school students from schools within the city.
Applications are open from Wednesday through Oct. 26 on the city's Talent Development Support Center website. If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, participants will be selected by lottery, with results announced Oct. 28.
Bang Hui-seon, head of the Future Education Division, said the first year of high school is a critical time for students to explore their aptitudes and career interests and chart their academic direction. "We will continue to provide tailored education support so that students can define their career goals based on their strengths and areas of interest, and prepare systematically for college entrance," Bang said.
Meanwhile, the city plans to continue running a range of career education support projects aimed at nurturing future talent. Key upcoming events include a parents' career lecture series from Oct. 22 to 27, the Namyangju AI Autonomous Driving Competition on Oct. 25, a career education fair on Oct. 30, and a regular admissions consulting session in December.
