'DS Together' event for 58,000 employees
Coffee trucks to visit major worksites for two months
'Movie Day' with family invitations set for December
Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday it will hold a "DS Together" event for employees of its semiconductor partner companies, starting with coffee truck visits this month and moving on to a movie-screening event in December.
The company began operating "co-prosperity cafes" Wednesday, making sequential visits to partner worksites including Daeduck Electronics, Saesoldia Diamond Industry, TLB and PSK.
The visits are planned to continue across major partner worksites nationwide for two months, targeting approximately 27,000 employees at 67 semiconductor procurement partners.
Woo Hyung-dong, a senior vice president on Samsung Electronics' DS (Device Solutions) division co-prosperity team, said the company's unwavering competitiveness in the global semiconductor market was built on the support of partner employees. "I hope the coffee truck event gave partner employees a brief moment to recharge," he said. "We will continue to grow together on the foundation of deep mutual trust."
Partner company executives responded positively. Shin Young-hwan, chief executive of Daeduck Electronics, said the event gave employees from both sides a chance to encourage one another amid busy schedules and reflect on the meaning of their partnership. "We will continue to grow together with Samsung Electronics through open communication and cooperation," he said.
Cho Seung-geon, president of TLB, said Samsung Electronics' expert training and financial support had been a great help in improving quality competitiveness, yield rates and productivity. "We will repay that with outstanding quality and results going forward," he said.
A movie-screening event is also planned from Dec. 21 to Dec. 23, with "Movie Day" screenings at screens in Giheung, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek and Cheonan open to approximately 30,000 partner employees and their families.
Beyond DS Together, Samsung Electronics runs a range of co-growth programs with its partners covering financial support, workplace environment improvements, leisure and welfare benefits, and technology and ESG competitiveness enhancement.
The company said it plans to continue communicating closely with its partners and strengthening cooperative ties through various support programs.
