Actor An Jae-hyun said his early entry into the entertainment industry kept him from enjoying an ordinary life.
According to Star News, a video titled "I went all out at a Han River sashimi picnic with daytime drinks" was posted Monday on An's YouTube channel.
That day, An picked up sashimi and shrimp from Noryangjin Fish Market before heading to Yeouido Han River Park for what is known as a "hoe-knik" — a portmanteau of "hoe" (raw fish) and "picnic." He said it was his first visit to Yeouido Han River Park.
"I'm a Ttukseom native," An said. "I've only ever been to broadcasting stations. Coming here like this, it feels like a city of the future."
When a crew member remarked that he had probably missed out on many experiences because of his fame, An said, "I debuted too early. But I think that actually turned out to be a good thing." He then gazed at the Han River sunset and grew reflective. "Why do I feel like crying? Maybe it's because the sunset is so beautiful," he said.
"I became independent way too early, and I started working early too, so this kind of culture feels very unfamiliar to me," An said. "If I'm not filming, I have nothing to do."
An made his debut as a model in 2009 and has since worked as an actor.
