The Kospi plunged Tuesday, breaking below the 6,000 mark. The index fell more than 4 percent in early trading, triggering a program sell-order sidecar — a temporary suspension of sell-side asking prices — for the first time in about two months since Aug. 20. That morning, the Kospi was hovering around the 5,990 level on the electronic board at the Woori Bank dealing room in Jung-gu, Seoul.
