General, autonomous private and specialized high schools to participate, with school-by-school info sessions and one-on-one consultations with current teachers
Noon to 5 p.m. at the district office; middle school students and parents may pre-register or walk in
Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul will host the "2027 Academic Year Dongdaemun-gu High School Admissions Information Fair" on Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Dongdaemun-gu District Office, for middle school students and their parents preparing for high school enrollment.
The fair was organized to help middle schoolers choose the high school best suited to their aptitudes and career goals, in line with rapidly shifting education policies including the high school credit system.
Because high school selection is directly tied to university admissions and future career paths, accurate information is critical. The district aims to guide families toward well-informed choices by consolidating admissions information from local general, autonomous private and specialized high schools in one place.
The fair will be held in the second-floor multipurpose auditorium and below-ground classrooms of the district office, with nine high schools taking part: Kyunghee High School, Kyunghee Girls' High School, Daekwang High School, Dongdaeboo High School, Cheongnyang High School, Haesung International Convention High School, Haesung Girls' High School, Hwegyeong Girls' High School and Hwibong High School.
From noon to 5 p.m., each school will hold a 50-minute admissions information session in the second meeting room on basement level 1 and the in-house academy on basement level 2. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the second-floor multipurpose auditorium, one-on-one consultations with current admissions teachers will be available, offering tailored guidance based on each student's grades and aptitudes. The sessions are expected to be a valuable resource for students and parents navigating the high school selection process.
Students and parents wishing to attend may pre-register through the Dongdaemun-gu personal information management system or sign up in person on the day of the event.
Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Choi Dong-min said he hopes the fair will "ease the concerns of incoming first-year high school students and their parents, and serve as a practical guide for students to map out a path that fits their dreams and aptitudes." He added that the district would "continue to strengthen programs that provide admissions information, so that no student struggles with choosing a school due to a lack of information."
