Top rating in financial services category at LACP Vision Awards, up from gold last year; ranked 49th worldwide, 6th in South Korea and 2nd among public institutions
Korea Ocean Business Corp.'s sustainability report has received the top rating at an international communications competition, moving up one tier from the gold award it won last year to platinum this year.
Korea Ocean Business Corp. announced Wednesday that its "2025 Sustainability Report," published last May, won the platinum award in the financial services category at the 2025 LACP Vision Awards, organized by the League of American Communications Professionals.
The LACP Vision Awards is an annual international competition held since 2001 that evaluates annual reports and sustainability reports published by companies, public institutions and nonprofit organizations worldwide. This year, about 1,000 companies and institutions from more than 20 countries participated.
The corporation scored 99 out of 100 points across eight evaluation criteria, including clarity of messaging, report structure, creativity and accessibility of information. It ranked 49th in the "Worldwide Top 100," which selects the top 100 organizations from all global entries, placing 6th among South Korean entrants and 2nd among public institutions.
The report covers the corporation's environmental, social and governance management direction along with its key activities and achievements. Its accessible presentation of sustainability performance for stakeholders drew high marks from judges.
"This award reflects our consistent efforts to communicate the corporation's ESG activities and achievements in a transparent and easy-to-understand way," President Ahn Byung-gil said. "We will continue to faithfully disclose our ESG management performance and maintain open communication with stakeholders as a public institution supporting the sustainable growth of the maritime industry."
