From one-on-one consultations with active teachers to university student mentoring — the fair opens Tuesday at Eco Park in Irwon-dong
Gangnam-gu will host a career and college admissions fair for middle and high school students and their parents on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Eco Center in Eco Park, Irwon-dong.
Now in its second year, the fair is designed to provide up-to-date admissions information and help students map out their futures through a range of programs related to university entrance and career planning.
The event will feature three main components: career and admissions consulting, university student mentoring, and hands-on career experience programs.
The consulting sessions will be led by active career and admissions teachers from schools within Gangnam-gu. Each student can receive up to 50 minutes of individual counseling on entrance exams and school grades, along with guidance on college application strategies based on an analysis of their academic record.
The mentoring program pairs students with university students from a wide range of majors who share firsthand experience and practical advice. It combines one-on-one counseling booths with lecture-style mentoring sessions led by university students who have gone through the student record-based holistic admissions process.
The hands-on career experience zone will include an AI career aptitude test, a university club experience area, and a photo booth where visitors can try on university jackets. Booths introducing high school admissions information within the district and the Gangnam e-learning platform will also be set up.
Admission is free for any middle or high school student or parent residing in Gangnam-gu. One-on-one consulting and other counseling sessions require advance reservations. Registration opens Wednesday at 9 a.m. and runs through the day of the fair, though walk-in registration will also be accepted on the day.
To make a reservation, visitors can scan the QR code on the poster or promotional banners posted on the Gangnam-gu district office website, then select their preferred program and time slot. For further details, contact the Gangnam-gu district office's education support division.
"Helping students find the right direction and pursue their dreams amid a rapidly changing admissions landscape is a core responsibility of district governance," Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki said. "I hope this fair will serve as a reliable guide that eases the worries of both students and parents."
