Doosan Enerbility cites need to secure future growth engines
Doosan Enerbility said Friday that Chief Financial Officer Park Sang-hyun has been promoted to vice chairman, while Song Yong-jin, head of the strategy and innovation division, has been appointed the company's new chief operating officer.
The company said the reshuffle was made to proactively respond to a rapidly changing global energy environment and strengthen future growth engines. Industry observers noted that the strong performance of core businesses — including nuclear power plants and gas turbines — also contributed to the promotions.
Park previously served as executive director of the CFP team at Doosan's holding division in 2008, head of financial management at Doosan Infracore in 2013, executive vice president of Doosan's holding division in 2015, and chief executive of Doosan Bobcat in 2018, before being named CEO of Doosan Enerbility in 2022.
The newly appointed COO Song is an engineer by background who joined Doosan Enerbility in 2008 as head of the strategy team. He went on to lead the power and innovation division and the wind energy business group, where he helped shape the company's growth strategy.
"Under the leadership of new COO Song, we plan to strengthen the competitiveness of our core businesses — including nuclear power, gas turbines and offshore wind energy — while accelerating innovation through AI and digital technology," a company official said.
