RogueX platform earns second Red Dot win
Electric, autonomous system designed for evolving construction environments
Doosan Bobcat announced Monday that its next-generation electric loader concept, the RogueX3, has won a main prize in the design concept category at the Red Dot Award, one of the world's three most prestigious design honors.
The RogueX3 is a fully electric loader that produces no exhaust emissions during operation. It made its public debut at CES 2026 in January. The win marks Doosan Bobcat's second Red Dot recognition for the RogueX platform, following the RogueX2's award in 2024.
Judges gave high marks to the machine's electric and autonomous work system, which addresses shifting conditions on construction sites — including labor shortages and growing demand for environmentally friendly equipment.
The RogueX3 uses high-precision positioning data, navigation systems, sensors and cameras to enable sophisticated autonomous operation and remote control. It also introduces a modular design to the RogueX platform for the first time, allowing operators to swap out wheel types, cab configurations and power units to suit different work environments.
The chassis architecture places the electric drive unit at the rear of the machine rather than relying on front-mounted hydraulics, cutting the total part count by more than half. The battery is integrated into the frame to lower the center of gravity and improve stability.
"This award again recognizes the innovation of RogueX — a single machine that goes beyond the limits of conventional industrial design to handle a wide range of work environments," a Doosan Bobcat official said. "We will continue researching equipment that improves operational convenience and efficiency to meet the rapidly changing needs of our users."
