Daegu's Nam-gu will host the 27th Yeonghonam Invited Master Performers Concert at the outdoor stage of Apsan Laundry Park at 4 p.m. on Oct. 30, the district announced Monday. The Lee Myung-hee Yeongnam Pansori Preservation Society is organizing the event.

The performance will bring together celebrated masters of traditional Korean music from the Yeongnam and Honam regions to share the depth and spirit of gugak with local residents.

Subtitled "Apsan, Dyed in Tradition," the concert aims to color the autumn of Apsan — a beloved mountain in Daegu — with a showcase of traditional music spanning both regions.

The lineup features prominent masters and vocalists from across Yeongnam and Honam, including Ju Un-suk (pansori), Lee Nan-cho (pansori), Im Hyeon-bin (pansori), Jeong Jeong-mi (pansori), Ju Yeong-ho (samulnori), Kim Su-gyeong (folk song), Kang Min-ji (folk song) and Im Hyeong-seok (samulnori). They will perform alongside the Daegu City Traditional Music Orchestra in a varied program of pansori, folk songs and nongak percussion.

Nam-gu District Mayor Jo Jae-gu said he hopes the concert will "strengthen cultural exchange between the Yeongnam and Honam regions, allow people to share the joy and emotion that traditional music brings, and serve as a place of harmony and communication where we can once again reflect on the value of our culture."
