Hyundai Motor's high-performance N brand unveiled a new special edition of the Avante N called the Avante N Monochrome on Monday.

"Monochrome" refers to an expression using a single color or a single family of tones. True to its name, the Avante N Monochrome strips away the varied, vivid colors of previous models and finishes both the interior and exterior in a single color as much as possible, deepening the sense of immersion.

The design distills the high-performance heritage the Avante N has built through motorsport and other pursuits into a restrained form, allowing drivers to focus entirely on the dynamism and joy of driving.

The model comes in two monochrome colors: Black and Performance Blue. It features newly designed monochrome-exclusive forged wheels, while the front and rear bumpers, brake calipers and steering wheel buttons are all finished in a single color to maximize simplicity. Alcantara has been added to interior surfaces including the steering wheel, and carbon material applied to select exterior components such as the side mirrors, enhancing the high-performance feel.

The Avante N Monochrome goes on sale domestically on Oct. 29, with plans to expand to global markets afterward.

N will display the car at the Hyundai N Festival, held over two days on Tuesday and Nov. 1 at Everland Speedway. Pop-up stores will follow — at Shinsegae department store in Seoul from Nov. 5 and at Shinsegae department store in Daegu from Nov. 13.

The Hyundai N Festival is South Korea's largest single-make race series, in which vehicles of the same model compete against one another. This year's festival spans six rounds, running from May through November. The event features three classes — Gran Turismo eN1, Kumho N1 and Nexen N2 — with dedicated race vehicles developed from the Ioniq 5 N and Avante N.

"The Avante N Monochrome was born from customers who wanted to experience the Avante N's high-performance heritage in a more restrained form," said Park Jun-woo, senior vice president and head of N Management at Hyundai Motor. "By stripping away the flamboyance and filling in the details, drivers will be able to focus more purely on the joy of driving."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor has been strengthening its global partnerships in motorsport, including hosting the "Hyundai N x Toyota GR (Gazoo Racing) Gymkhana Day" last month at Inje Speedium in Inje-gun, Gangwon Province.
