Lotte Mart's cultural centers will begin accepting registrations for winter semester regular courses at 60 locations nationwide starting Thursday.
The centers are expanding their experiential program lineup by 30 percent compared to last winter semester, offering around 10,000 courses. Highlights include a family Christmas Rudolph cake-decorating class, a pinecone soy candle workshop and a board game session called "God of Calculation."
Cooking classes will also be offered, covering pizza-topped rice cake and fruit glutinous rice cake. Select Grand Grocery locations — including the Guri, Gwonseon and Seongjung branches — will run floral arrangement workshops, flower decoration sessions and Christmas wreath-making classes. One-day cooking classes using private-brand products such as pancake mix and chocolate are also on the schedule.
The Bupyeong and Geomdan branches will offer tarot card readings for the new year, while the Max Yeongdeungpo branch has prepared a "New Year's luck strainer door bell" craft class. The Sasang branch will hold a seollal kite-making workshop.
Infant and toddler classes held between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. will come with a 20,000 won ($15) discount coupon. A similar discount offered during the same time slot in the fall semester drove a roughly 40 percent year-on-year increase in sales for infant and toddler courses.
Members who sign up for adult regular courses this winter semester will receive a three-piece Activia Boost Shot set. Dance class students will get Lingtea Original, while children enrolled in physical education courses will receive Lingtea Kids. Participants in a special collaborative lullaby session with Bebefin will be given one set of Bebefin stickers.
